Lluís Coloma —internationally recognized pianist and composer from Barcelona— accompanied by his compact and forceful band, in collaboration with the great ‘Blue Lou’ Marini —saxophonist of the Blues Brothers, Blood, Sweat and Tears and James Taylor among many others, present their new project, where they originally intertwine their own and classic themes such as Mona Lisa and Rockin’ Robin. Energy, groove and fast-paced rhythms in a record that sounds with the force of a live performance and that of course drinks from the rich heritage of Blues, Jazz, Boogie Woogie... with an open, current look and enriched by the mastery of each of the musicians.

September 2022, Café Central, Madrid. My James Taylor colleague Walt Fowler and I were on vacation in Spain with our wives and James Taylor was in Madrid on tour with just a trio. James called me up and asked if I had some suggestions for their night off. I said go to Café Central to hear my friend Lluís Coloma and his band. James brought Steve Gadd, and Walt and I brought our horns. The band was burning, we sat in, James and Steve loved it, stayed the whole night.

Following that magical night, Lou and Lluís played together at the Central in the fall of 2023, with tickets sold out every night. This is where the present project began, which has been worked on between New York and Madrid, and recorded in October 2024 at the Infinity studios in Madrid, with Arnau Julià on drums, Manolo Germán on double bass and the great Sevillian guitarist Kid Carlos, completing the imposing band.
